Thanks for checking out my MAME machine page. I got the idea of building a MAME cabinet when the incredibly amazing emulator had finally emulated all of the games I had in my garage. I figured, why have 10+ games taking up valuable real estate when I can play all of my favorites on one.

I sold all of my old classics and proceeded to build myself a MAME machine out of an old Track and Field arcade cabinet.  It wasn't the best looking thing, but it served its purpose very well.  You can view this original converted MAME machine here.

This page, and the links from the left side, document the steps I have taken in creating my second MAME cabinet.

I could spend weeks trying to thank everyone who give me ideas, feedback, criticism and praise and still not include everyone.  Mostly, I suppose, I need to thank my family for enduring the sawdust, stain and polyurethane vapors emanating from the garage, the many trips to Home Depot, Lowes and Radio Shack for supplies and the evenings and weekends I spent in the garage instead of spending time with them.

The people at the Arcade Controls site were outstanding, giving me ideas and feedback. My design has a little bit of uniqueness about it, but it is somewhat based upon Lusid's cabinet design. I substituted 1/2" plywood for his 5/8" MDF and I built a nice sturdy 2"x4" frame to work from.

Every part of the cabinet where wood meets wood was glued and screwed with Elmer's Wood Glue and #10 wood screws.  This thing is solid.

I got the control panel idea from Clay, proud owner of the Doughcade
